Experience
Andrew Kent is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Minimal Access Surgeon based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford since 2001. He is Director of Gynaecological Surgery at the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit and is Convenor of the Gynaecological Courses. He also runs master classes and preceptors in laparoscopic hysterectomy, tissue morcellation, laparoscopic pelvic floor surgery and in the surgical management of rectovaginal endometriosis.
In addition he is on the faculty of the Royal College of Surgeons in London and the European Surgical Institute in Hamburg. As a member of the Council of both the British and European Societies of Gynaecological Endoscopy he has been involved in the development of Endometriosis Centres in the UK and is Deputy Clinical Director for the MSc programme in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy, University of Surrey.
Research
Research interests include the surgical management of endometriosis and fibroids, and the development of laparoscopic approaches to hysterectomy and pelvic floor prolapse. He has presented widely on these subjects at both national and international meetings.
