Experience
I have been working as a Consultant Rheumatologist in the UK since August 2008.My commitments involve outpatients clinics including a specialty clinic for 'Early Inflammatory Arthritis' and 'Connective Tissue discorders and Vasculitis'. I also regularly perform 'Ultrasound of musculoskeletol system'
I have worked as a Consultant Rheumatology (Associate Professor, Medicine and Head, Unit of Rheumatology) till 2003 in a university hospital in India.
I did my training as Registrar in Rheumatology (FTTA, Eastern Deanery)
I completed my postgraduate training in Internal Medicine(1994)and Clinical Immunology-Rheumatology (1998) in India
I established a Unit of Rheumatology and Immunology at Pokhara (Nepal) and Manipal (India). From 1991 onwards I regularly held bedside clinics and demonstrations for the undergraduate students, including extensive teaching experiences for one year at Melaka Manipal Medical College in Malaysia. I have been a undergraduate examiner for Medicine and designated examiner for Rheumatology.
As part of my Immunology-Rheumatology training I have learned major immunological laboratory techniques and rheumatological procedures.
I have worked in general Internal Medicine since 1991 (My entry point in Internal Medicine, MD programme). this gave me confidence in managing emergency care, inpatient and out patient care of medical patients.
