On 22 November 2007, Vale Clinic Ltd entered a joint venture agreement with Nuffield Health to form Vale Healthcare Ltd.
The clinic opened in Cardiff in September 2008, and will provide outpatient, diagnostic and rehabilitation services as well as day case surgery. The clinic will have an advanced MRI scanner unit and other modern diagnostic facilities provided by Nuffield Health. It will be followed in 2009 by a new hospital, subject to planning consent, which will provide a range of outpatient and inpatient surgical and medical services. A comprehensive wellbeing service focusing on the promotion of good health will be provided by the Nuffield Health wellbeing division.
