Making a referral
Referring your patient to Nuffield Health
Your referral letters for private patients can be either faxed or mailed to your local Nuffield Health hospital. You can use our quick finder to find your nearest centre or to search through the wide-range of specialties available through our nationwide network of hospitals. You may also want to download your local Referrers’ Directory as a future reference to the consultants available in your area. Private Medical Insurance
If your patient has private medical insurance, they will need to contact their insurance company to obtain important policy details before arranging an appointment with one of our hospitals. This information may include:
Once they have received this information and any other relevant instructions from their insurer, they can call their local Nuffield Health hospital and make an appointment directly.
Self pay
Patients who are funding their own consultation and treatment can personally book their appointment once they have a GP referral. You may want to provide them with their local referral contact details.
Choose and Book
For NHS patients, you’ll find us listed in the Choose and Book Directory of Services. If your patient chooses to book their appointment with a Nuffield Health hospital they can contact the Nuffield Health Choose and Book Centre on 0800 015 50 20. Their referral letter should be provided via the Choose and Book system.
