About Our Diagnostic Services
For 50 years, we have worked closely with GPs and consultant healthcare professionals providing the highest standards of healthcare for your patients.
Nuffield Health Diagnostics continues that tradition, offering a nationwide service – and backed with £50 million of investment in new imaging and pathology technology.
As part of a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity, we do not have shareholders. We reinvest our entire surplus back into improved health services such as:
- state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure
- information and training to ensure our staff have the latest information and are fully trained about the latest diagnostic techniques
- mobile facilities so that we can provide more people with excellent healthcare services
This is part of our unique social contract with family doctors and the NHS and why Nuffield Health is a trusted healthcare organisation in local communities throughout Britain.

FLEXIBILITY and AVAILABILITY are the key benefits of our CPA-accredited nationwide service.
Massive investment in our pathology network means that we can now offer a bespoke service to NHS laboratories and also to GP practices wishing to offer more convenient facilities to patients.
As a partner to NHS labs, we provide essential overflow support including:
Neonatal screening for Down’s Syndrome
Nuffield Diagnostics provides an integrated service with a new central laboratory in Warwick and upgraded labs in a further 20 hospitals, nine of which are regional hubs providing specialised support to blood transfusion users.
All our labs are connected on a nationwide IT platform using CliniSys software providing common protocols and procedures and producing standardised reports.
For GP practices, we offer screening facilities including Point of Care Testing (POCT) In A Box. This is much more than a hardware service. Nuffield Diagnostics actively “manages the box” for each practice, making it easy for medical practitioners and nursing staff to carry out the tests and quickly access the results on behalf of their patients.
This service includes Quality Assurance, training, competency assessments and technical support enabling GPs to conduct a variety of tests.
