David Mobbs, Group Chief Executive
David is recognised as an innovative and influential leader in healthcare and he has put Nuffield Health in an excellent position to address people’s changing health needs. Under David’s leadership, Nuffield Health has become the only major healthcare provider able to offer services covering everything from getting healthy to getting excellent treatment, and a model for charitable enterprise. David has extensive experience in healthcare, having worked for Community Hospitals Group and Bupa. In his early career, he was a management consultant for Ernst & Young, and a national management trainee in the NHS. He actually left Nuffield Health as Operations Director in 2002, but was asked to return the following year as Chief Executive. He is regularly invited to participate in health and charity policy thinking at the highest level.
KP Doyle, Chief Financial Officer
KP Doyle was appointed Chief Financial Officer in August 2009. He was a founding director of Sona Group, which was bought by Nuffield Health in 2005. He was formerly Chief Financial Officer of Nuffield Proactive Health and played a major role in the acquisition of Cannons at the end of 2007. KP has been instrumental in laying the foundations of the future combined business. He integrated health screening, primary care and physiotherapy services into Nuffield Proactive Health and put in place consistent clinical governance, quality assurance and operational processes.
Dr Andrew Jones, Group Medical Director
Andy is Nuffield Health’s first medical director. He completed surgical training in Leeds and also worked as a GP in Lincolnshire prior to joining Nuffield Health in late 2007. Andy ensures that Nuffield Health maintains very high standards in taking care of its customers and staff, as demonstrated in the Quality Report which is published annually and which was recognised in 2009 with a Laing and Buisson Award for Risk Management. Andy continues to play an influential role in the development of health policy, through his previous appointment to the Conservative Public Service Commission and currently with advisory roles to The King’s Fund, Care Quality Commission and NHS Partners Network. His insight on healthcare issues can be seen in his regular contributions to the Health Service Journal and other publications.
Marcus Powell, Group OD/HR Director and MD Contract Fitness & Wellbeing.
Marcus joined Nuffield Health in October 2008 as Group Organisation Development and HR Director; in late 2009 he also assumed responsibility for leading the Contract Fitness & Wellbeing division. He joined from Ashridge Management College where he was Head of Talent Management and a Business Director of Ashridge Consulting. During his time at Ashridge, Marcus was involved in helping organisations through periods of significant change and transition, including the BBC, The Foreign Office, Masterfoods and Unilever. Prior to Ashridge, Marcus was a senior executive at Marks and Spencer Plc having a variety of roles including Head of Procurement for Menswear and Head of Learning and Organisational Development. He also spent time at M&S and Ashridge working with HR groups developing a strategic approach to HR. Marcus has had a number of articles published, predominantly in the field of strategic talent management.
Mathew Hart, Group Marketing Director
Mathew Hart was Group Marketing and Commercial Director for Cannons at the time of the acquisition by Nuffield Health and subsequently took on marketing responsibility across the Wellbeing division, leading the re-brand of the division in 2008. His role has now been extended to cover all marketing activity across the Nuffield Health group. Previously he has been Group marketing director at lastminute.com; UK managing director, Group e-commerce director and overseas director at Holiday Autos and has held a variety of marketing and commercial positions within the Thomson Travel Group.
Patricia Lee, Chief Executive, Hospitals
Trish trained as a nurse and worked in the NHS before joining Nuffield Health as a hospital General Manager, becoming a Regional Director, Commercial Director and even acting as Clinical Director during a period of significant change. However, it is not just this breadth of experience and 25 years in healthcare that makes Trish uniquely qualified to lead our hospitals business, but also her passion for everything that Nuffield Health stands for.
Nick Burrows, Managing Director Commercial Fitness & Wellbeing
Nick is recognised for his track record of reinvigorating businesses and developing brands within the leisure sector. He is a highly versatile leader with sales, marketing and multi-site operational roles on his CV. Nick has previously held various director roles within Whitbread, Holmes Place Health Clubs, Rank Group and Macdonald Hotels. His early career was spent in the hospitality industry where he managed hotels, conference centres and health clubs. It was here that he developed a passion for customer service and for developing up and coming management teams. He is a graduate of the Common Purpose charity and a former fundraiser for Barnardos. Nick joined Nuffield Health at the end of 2008 as Managing Director, Commercial Fitness, leading the transformation of the former Cannons clubs into Nuffield Health’s new, integrated fitness and wellbeing centres.
Laura Kerby, Managing Director, Clinical Products & Services
Laura was the founding Operations Director of Sona Group, which was bought by Nuffield Health in 2005. After the acquisition she directed the operational re-engineering and re-positioning of the health assessment business and managed the development of the largest physiotherapy network in the private sector. Prior to this she worked as a Regional Manager for Forte Hotels and as a Spa Consultant to Molton Brown and the Thistle Hotel Group. Laura will be instrumental in the future creation of the health differential for Nuffield Health.
